THE PARISH OF ENGLISH BICKNOR

The Parish of English Bicknor is located on the Western side of the Forest of Dean in West Gloucestershire, midway between Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth, within the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

The Parish Council

Elected by the people of English Bicknor

The Parish Council exists to advise residents, raise issues and lead on projects to benefit the community.  All council meeting dates, agendas and minutes along with council finances are available on this website.

The Village Hall

The Village Hall is at the heart of the English Bicknor community. It is the busy home for a host of local organisations and is in regular demand for weddings and other events. The bar opens for frequent local get-togethers and the playing field hosts the annual Village Fete and many other activities, with the recent addition of a childrens' playground.

St Mary the Virgin is a beautiful Grade 1 listed Norman church, dating from 1100, standing in an oval churchyard of Saxon origins. Along with nearby Christchurch, it offers regular worship and pastoral care for the community.

Celebrating 90 years of the Village Hall

In July 2024, a mini-music festival was held on the Village Hall playing fields to celebrate ninety years since the building of the hall.
